Our replica moidores, as seen in The Gallows Pole!
Our replicas of the classic 18th century Portuguese coins are modelled on the ones that the Cragg Vale Coiners themselves made! Moidores have featured in many wonderful fictional iterations, including Walter Scott Prize winning The Gallows Pole by Benjamin Myers, now a TV series from the BBC. Our coins were used in the filming of the BBC adaptation, and Rob was on set to step in as a hand double for 'David Hartley' during filming! We have a limited selection of our replica coins available to purchase.
