How did you first meet?
Andrew and I met 4 years ago at a wedding in Mauritius; his cousin from Australia got married to my friend from Reunion Island. The meeting was at a rehearsal night dinner in a restaurant on the beach. I came straight up to him to introduce myself and instantly loved him, and we got to talk all night (love at first sight really exists, I’m telling you). Two days later we met again at the wedding and that’s when our story together began.
What made you realise he was “the one”?
Our story is wonderful, when we met I was living in Paris and he was living in Littleborough. Everything was natural and we just wanted to spend more and more time together, I understood it was meant to be and he was the one I wanted to spend my life with, so 6 months after our encounter I moved to Littleborough.
Tell us about the proposal and the engagement ring…
On 24th of October 2017 Andrew organised for us to go for a walk in Hebden Bridge, so we went to Hardcastle Crags for a nice long romantic walk. At one point we were in a beautiful landscape with the river on one side and under trees, it was so peaceful and magical, so I asked Andrew if we could stop and admire this landscape because I found it romantic. He agreed, we talked and I started to feel that he was a bit nervous, he started saying amazing things and then suddenly dropped on his knees and popped the question and I obviously said YES!
We then went to Hebden Bridge, and Andrew had organised for me to come in to The Workshop to design my ring. I started by selecting my diamond, its shape, and then the ring. It was an incredible experience and I would recommend everyone to do the same, especially when they are unsure about their choice of engagement ring.
Is there a story behind the wedding ring?
We talked about my ring for a while, I had showed him what my preferences were, the shape, the colour…and the one we picked for The Workshop to make for us is simply perfection. It is modern and classic and completely suits my style and personality.
Where did you decide to get married?
We got married on 26th October 2018 in Mauritius; I always wanted to get married on a tropical island as I come from one. Our wedding was simply the best we enjoyed every second of it.
. . . and an extra question – what is your ideal romantic meal in for two?
I love Italian food, and for me I think going to an Italian restaurant with a nice bottle of red wine, and obviously finish with a sweet note.
